Hole 4
The 4th plays slightly downhill to a wide fairway with a bunker on
the right and trees left and right. A lateral water hazard at about
250 yards off the tee makes driver a questionable choice. Smart
players tend to go with a 5 iron or a lofted rescue to layup centre
of the fairway near the bunker. This gives the ideal lie and position
for the approach to the green. Anything beyond that puts the ball
on a tough downhill lie, or in danger of getting wet.
The green itself is well protected, with bunkers left and right at the front of the green, and on the right side by another bunker. If the pin is at the front, be careful not to overshoot it; a downhill put in this position can cost more than one stroke!
